Does your camp have theme weeks or theme days? In this series of posts, I give you 5 ideas for different themes. Check the comments for more ideas and to add your own.
Below are my five suggestions. What’s yours?
OUTDOOR FUN
The outdoors provides kids with many opportunities to be 吸咬奶头狂揉60分钟视频.
- Run an Art in Nature session where kids use nature materials to create an art piece.
- Build fairy houses.
- Divide the kids into groups and have them make Thing-A-Ma-Bobs.
CAMP GAME DESIGN
When it comes to summer camp, games are a core activity. A fun way to let kids be 吸咬奶头狂揉60分钟视频 is to create a new game or a twist on a camp classic.
- Place a bunch of different sports and game equipment on a field. Divide the campers into groups. Give them 15-20 minutes to create a new game (or competition). Have each group present their games and then play a couple of them (or all of them if you have time).
- Have kids come up with add-ons for Capture the Flag. For example, if a tagged player goes to jail they can get out as soon as they solve a puzzle, or as soon as they make a beanbag into a basket.
- Have campers come up with Dodgeball variations.
ROOM DECOR
At overnight camps, allowing the campers to decorate their cabin can be a lot of fun and give them ownership over their space. At day camps, giving each group a room or part of a room can give the kids a 吸咬奶头狂揉60分钟视频 outlet.
- Provide a small table and chairs and have the kids create a scene with their stuffed animals.
- Have the campers use rocks and sticks to create a welcome sign outside their cabin.
- Provide streamers, and other party decor giving the kids a chance to create a festive space.
ARTS AND CRAFTS
I’d guess that 99% of camps do some sort of arts and crafts program. While tie-dye and friendship bracelets are fantastic and classic crafts, bump it up for this week’s theme.
- Provide plain wooden frames and a variety of decorating supplies like paint, stickers, and gems. Kids can create a frame for a favorite photo, making a personalized display piece.
- Using beads, charms, and letters, kids can create personalized bracelets, necklaces, or keychains. This activity allows for personal expression and creates something practical they can use or wear.
- With fabric paints and markers, kids can design their own tote bags. Whether they draw their favorite characters, patterns, or motivational quotes, it’s something they’ll love to use repeatedly.
PERFORMING ARTS
What’s a 吸咬奶头狂揉60分钟视频 Camper theme week without performing arts? You don’t have to put together a whole musical theater production. Keep it simple.
- Most kids love improv games. Put together a list of them and dedicate an activity session to playing improv games.
- Teaching simple magic tricks is great. While you’re at it, teach them how to “perform” using patter and misdirection.
- There are many forms of dance. If you don’t have staff that can teach some sort of dance, bring in professional instructors for an afternoon.
